Partner/Supplier of the Year
This award recognizes the strategic value and service that individual suppliers contribute to the B.C. insurance industry. The business that receives this award responds in innovative ways to the demands of the insurance industry, provides consistent levels of excellent customer service (despite whether those customers are in business-to-business or business-to-consumer relationships), and maintains its ongoing business success through strong relationships with its insurance-industry customers.
Candidates for this award are not limited to suppliers that provide goods, but also include providers of any range of products or services recognized and valued within the B.C. insurance industry. Testimonials from insurers and business partners will help validate the nomination.
Young Broker of the Year
This award celebrates a young broker who is forward-thinking and proactive in implementing new approaches to his/her brokerage or within the industry. S/he embodies high professional standards and is committed to self-development and community service. S/he’s also a high-performing salesperson with a strong and positive personal brand.
To be eligible for this award the broker must be employed at a brokerage that is a member of IBABC in good standing, and s/he should not be a current serving member of the IBABC Board of Directors or Executive Committee. S/he must be under 40 years of age OR have less than 5 years’ experience as a broker, with an active insurance licence issued in British Columbia.
Personal Lines Broker of the Year
This award celebrates a personal-lines broker who has developed and offers a special product, scheme or offering to meet the insurance needs of personal lines and micro-commercial clients, has been instrumental in innovating such products and/or services in the context of profitable growth, provides top quality service, and/or gives value-added services or support to his/her clients.
To be eligible for this award the broker must be employed by an IBABC member brokerage in good standing. S/he must serve personal lines and micro-commercial markets. S/he should not be a current serving member of the IBABC Board of Directors or Executive Committee. Testimonials from insurers and business partners will help validate the nomination.
Commercial Lines Broker of the Year
This award celebrates a commercial-lines broker who has developed and offers a special product, scheme or offering to meet the insurance needs of SME/mid-corporate clients, has been instrumental in innovating such products and/or services in the context of profitable growth, provides top quality SME service, and/or gives value-added services or support (such as risk management) to his/her commercial clients.
To be eligible for this award the broker must be employed by an IBABC member brokerage in good standing. S/he must serve SMEs and mid-corporate markets. S/he should not be a current serving member of the IBABC Board of Directors or Executive Committee. Testimonials from insurers and business partners will help validate the nomination.
Innovator of the Year
The Innovator of the Year Award rewards a broker, brokerage, or group of brokers who elevate the insurance industry. The innovator propels him/her/itself and others even higher, constantly challenging the status quo. This award is not limited to technology-driven brokers/brokerages/groups of brokers; it’s open to any broker/brokerages/groups of brokers that capitalize on opportunity, have a strong vision, and are willing to take risks. Only those who make a positive impact on the insurance industry will be considered for this award.
To be eligible for this award the broker, brokerage, or group of brokers must be members of IBABC in good standing. They should not be a current serving member of the IBABC Board of Directors or Executive Committee.
Community Champion of the Year
The Community Champion Award recognizes a broker, brokerage, or group of brokers who makes significant contributions to and a positive impact on the community at large. They embody a positive spirit and serves as a role model for other brokers and people in the community.
To be eligible for this award the broker, brokerage, or group of brokers must be members of IBABC in good standing. They should not be a current serving member of the IBABC Board of Directors or Executive Committee.
Brokerage of the Year
This award recognizes a brokerage that’s forward-thinking and proactive in its approach to internal organization, technology implementation, human resources management, and community and industry service. It also exhibits strong financial management and has an engaging story.
To be eligible for this award the brokerage must be a member of IBABC in good standing. The principal broker or member of the brokerage’s senior management team should not be a current serving member of the IBABC Board of Directors or Executive Committee.
